2 new virus deaths, 21 added cases in El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Department of Public Health reported two coronavirus-related deaths and 21 new cases Wednesday.

The latest deaths involved a man in his 70s and another in his 90s, taking El Paso County's pandemic death toll to 2,620.

There are also 13 additional suspected Covid-19 deaths currently being investigated by the health department.

El Paso health department data shows that 55.3% of El Pasoans 12 and older are now fully vaccinated, with 69.4% having received at least one dose.

The number of known active cases now stands at 857.

There are 72 Covid-19 patients in El Paso hospitals, with 24 of those patients in intensive care units.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 136,154 confirmed virus cases in El Paso with 132,588 reported recoveries.
