El Paso Zoo Celebrates National Tarantula Appreciation Day

El Paso, TX (KVIA-TV)-Melissa Malecker from the El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens came to speak to us on the subject of Tarantula Appreciation Day. She stated that although tarantulas may appear frightening, they are among the most interesting creatures in nature.

A good way to mark National Tarantula Appreciation Day is to see these remarkable arachnids up close. While doing so, the Zoo Keepers also give out some interesting facts regarding their behavior, adaptations, and the important role they play in healthy ecosystems.
