Sunday Funday Moment: Felicitas Carrasco shares her secret to living to 100-years-old
EL PASO, Texas-- Felicitas Carrasco survived Covid-19 back in September of 2020 and this past Friday she proved that she is still going strong as she celebrated a very special birthday, her 100th birthday!
Carrasco was born back in 1921, which can sometimes be confusing when she gives her date of birth during 20-21
“Every time they asked me my birthday I would say 6-11-21 and now when I say it they get confused.," said Carrasco.
She is a proud mom of five kids and an even prouder Grandma.
“I have seventeen grandkids and I can't count the greats,” said Carrasco laughing.
At 100 years old, Carrasco still found time to volunteer at the nursing home on Pebble Creek.
“ Me and my sisters used to give the rosary to the patients there every Tuesday and they would be very happy," said Carrasco, "They smiled and they laughed and clapped and we had very nice times.”
When asked if she has any tips or secrets to living a long life, Carrasco responded, "I don't have any secrets at all only that I was very active and I just keep reading my newspaper and doing puzzles."
And at 100 years old she reminds us that family is key to living a long and happy live.
“I love all my children and all my family," said Carrasco, " love them all because I have a wonderful family.”
