EPISD Trustee Arrested For DWI
EL PASO, TX– El Paso School District trustee Patricia Hughes was arrested on Fridayon a charge ofdriving while intoxicated, ABC 7 has learned.
The station’s I Teamuncovered the arrest in a routine check of the El Paso Police Department’s DWI arrest photos online.
A search of jail records shows that Hughes, trustee for District 6,was booked into theEl Paso County Detention Facilityjust after 3:15a.m. on Nov. 30. She was released around 10:00 am the same day after posting a $600 bond.
Through a district spokesman, Hughesissued this statement regarding the arrest:
“It is with deep regret and remorse that I extend my sincere apology to the community and the District. As a public official, I am aware of the role that I play as a community leader and the standards to which we are held. Since this has a profound [effect] on my family, the staff, students and the employees of the District, I make a commitment to you to seek whatever assistance I need to prevent this from ever happening again.”
