Cars Hit 4 Donkeys On I-10 Near Clint

EL PASO COUNTY, Texas — Two cars hit and killed four donkeys that apparently had been wandering on I-10 near Clint about midnight on Monday, El Paso County Sheriff’s spokesman Jesse Tovar confirmed. The donkeys died on impact.

Both cars received heavy damage, though neither of the drivers of the cars were injured.

No citations were issued — deputies merely wrote up accident reports for the drivers’ insurance companies. No one has come forth to claim the donkeys.

Due to safety concerns, Texas Department of Transportation crews moved the donkey carcasses onto the side shoulder during the night and than waited until daybreak to pick up them up, officials said.
