Man Stabbed In Anthony Now Wanted By Authorities
EL PASO, Texas — A man who was stabbed in Anthony early Sunday morning was released from Thomason Hospital Monday and is now wanted by authorities for traffic violations and failure to appear, Dona Ana County Sheriff’s officials said.
Sheriff’s officials said 25-year-old Jesus Noel Ramirez of Vado, New Mexico, was stabbed twice in the torso about 1 a.m. Sunday morning in Anthony.
Ramirez was transported to Memorial Medical Center after the incident. At the hospital, the man told investigators with the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Department that he had been stabbed in front of the Escandalos Bar in Anthony, Texas, sheriff’s officials said.
Ramirez was then transported to Thomason Hospital in El Paso due to the seriousness of the wounds.
The Anthony, Texas, Police Department took over the investigation but later on, while being interviewed at Thomason Hospital, Ramirez said he had been stabbed at a taco stand directly across the street from the bar, which is in New Mexico, sheriff’s officials said.
Blood spatter was found at both places. The victim refused to cooperate with the investigation other than to say he was stabbed, officials said.
Ramirez is wanted by the New Mexico State Police and the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Department.
The investigation is now being handled by the Anthony, Texas, Police Department.
