Juarez Mayor Launches Program To Change Negative Image Of City
JUAREZ, Mexico — Juarez Mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz launched a program this week to change the negative image of the city in Mexico and abroad.
The program is called “AMOR por Juarez” (love for Juarez) and it stands for the Spanish-language acronym for Municipal Alliance of Order and Respect.
Civic and religious groups will participate in activities for the program until Sunday of this week. A religious group prayed and fasted Monday in front of city hall, and a group of elderly people were slated to participate later this week, Juarez city officials said in a news release.
