Hit And Run Victim’s Family Speaks Out
By ABC-7 Reporter Marissa MonroyEL PASO, Tx. — An El Paso man is dead after sheriff deputies say adriver slammed into him with his car early Saturday morning. Ithappened near the intersection of Annegret and Uli Ruecker in Horizon.Deputies identified the man killed as Juan “Manny” Dominguez.”We just want justice for Manny,” Rafael Dominguez said. “We were sucha close family and we just want to know why.”Investigators say the crash happened as a party was ending.”Manny was just walking when up the street, there were these two guysthat came out of nowhere,” Dominguez said. “They started chasing themfor no reason at all.”Dominguez said the driver of a white car reached speeds of up to 60miles per hour, before slamming into Manny Dominguez, his wife, DevaraMichelle Ticali, and Valdo Botello.”My brother went so high in the sky he hit his head on the basketballcourt that was right there,” Dominguez said.The metal basketball pole was bent completely down to the ground, withtire tracks visible.”When he landed, he was face down and when I turned him over, he hadgushes of blood coming out of his mouth and part of his face wasseverely torn off,” Dominguez said.Emergency crews rushed all three victims to the hospital, butDominguez did not survive.He leaves behind a wife and a 13-year-old daughter.”Just let us know who, who the driver was, who do this to my brother,who did this to my family,” Dominguez said.Sheriff deputies say the driver of the vehicle sped away. He remains at large.
