Toddler, 2, Falls Off Second-Floor Balcony

EL PASO — A two year old-toddler was hurt seriously after falling out of a two story building at a northeast apartment complex.

The incident happened at the 4600 block of Maxwell.

“I looked over and I saw the little boy just come through the railing,” said Javier Jacquez, a neighbor. “He fell and you could hear something fall on the floor loud and heavy. By the time I got over there, he was on his knees crying.”

Witnesses say the boy’s parents and several neighbors where watching several children play when the toddler fell through a gapin betweenthe railing.

The balcony was in the second floor and the boy fell into the concrete floor below, according to witnesses at the scene. The boy suffered several bruises and scrapes to his forehead and was rushed to University Medical Center.
