Plastic Surgeon Makes El Paso Home

by ABC-7 Reporter/Anchor Celina Avila

EL PASO, Texas — El Paso is known for its mountains, sunsets and friendly people, but one doctor who recently moved to the Sun City also wants it to be known for its beautiful people.

Plastic surgeon Frank Agullo recently walked ABC-7 through the El Paso Cosmetic Surgery Center of El Paso, equipped with the latest technology and private operating rooms.

“I thought it’d be a great opportunity to put El Paso on the map as far as plastic surgeries and reconstructive surgeries,” Agullo said.

He and his family made El Paso home about a month ago.

“El Paso is a great place to have a family and I think it’s a safe place.”

The Puerto Rican-born doctor has studied all over the world but says our border community always stood out.

“The large need there is for doctors in El Paso, the ratio of patients to doctors, the easy way of living. It’s not expensive like in other big cities, and it is a big city.”

After spending five years at El Paso’s Texas Tech Medical School during his residency, he says he felt at home. Agullo went on to train in plastic surgery at the prestigious Mayo Clinic and could have gone anywhere, but “for us it was a no-brainer…We’re here for good.”
