Willie Nelson Tour Bus Searched At Border Patrol Check Point
El Paso, Texas – Not long after Willie Nelson’s El Paso concert last week, a Nelson tour bus was stopped at the U.S. Immigration and Border Patrol station East of El Paso and a citation was given, according to a blog post on Nelson’s official Web site by Nelson’s daughter.
Everyone was removed from the bus and Border Patrol dogs were taken on the bus while the Nelson crew “stood in the dark cold watching in fear. It was in the teens and the atmosphere at the station was also chilly.”
It was not immediately clear from the blog post if all of Nelson’s tour buses were searched or just one.
“We (the crew bus) were delayed about five hours, escaped with a single citation and barely made stage call on time (in Fort Worth,” the blog post stated.
The blog does not state what the citation was for.
Nelson and four others were issued misdemeanor citations for possession of narcotic mushrooms and marijuana in 2006 after the tour bus they were on was stopped by state police on Interstate 10 in Louisiana.
