Friends, Family Have Visitation For Good Samaritan

By ABC-7 Reporter Abe Lubetkin

El Paso, Texas-Family and friends of 25-year-old Liz Gonzalez gathered for her visitation Thursday evening.

Gonzalez was the Good Samaritan who died just after helping a crash victim out of her car around 5:30 Tuesday morning.

Today, that victim, 49-year-old Cecilia Marquez, told ABC-7 she was hugging Gonzalez in the emergency lane of I-10 when a jeep hit Gonzalez and literally ripped her from Marquez’s arms.

Marquez was not hurt badly.

She contacted the Gonzalez family last night after we mentioned in our newscast that they wanted to talk to Marquez.

Gonzalez’s funeral is Friday at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home at 1755 North Zaragosa at 10 am.
