Sun MetroTo Perform Maintenance On Fuel Odorant System On Sunday

In an effort to accommodate Downtown businesses, Sun Metro’s maintenance department is rescheduling its routine work on the Mercaptan (fuel odorant) system to Sunday, June 6 instead of Saturday.

Depending on weather conditions, the highly concentrated odorant may permeate the Downtown area and be perceived as a gas leak; however, it does not pose any safety risks for area residents, according to Sun Metro officials.

Any gas odor that might be dispersed into the downtown area can be expected to disappear after a short time.

Sun Metro expects the work to be completed by early Sunday afternoon.
