Police Stop Investigating Shooting In Northeast El Paso

El Paso Police detectives from are no longer investigating an incident that led to a Jeep Liberty being shot and abandoned in Northeast El Paso on Monday.

Police found the 31-year-old victim who told detectives he was the victim of an apparent car jacking and that he managed to take the weapon away from the suspect. The victim also said that he left the vehicle at the location it was found and that he had disposed of the gun in the area.

That gun was located during the initial investigation this past Monday.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to his back, however, it is believed to be non-life-threatening. The victim is not fully cooperating in the investigation and has indicated that no prosecution is desired in this case.

Due to the victim not wanting to prosecute the case has been inactivated.
