Gun Battle In Mexico Ends With 11 Dead
Authorities in Tecalitlan in the Mexican state of Jalisco confirmed there was a gun battle between rival gangs that killed 11 people during a Virgin of Guadalupe celebration.
According to the Jalisco state attorney general’s office, armed men arrived in three cars and opened fire on another group of gunmen in the main plaza of Tecalitlan.
One of the gunmen hurled a grenade. Another man, the brother of one of those killed in the plaza, was found shot dead by a car on the highway, according to authorities.
Authorities said they found two banners in the car. One read: “We haven’t come to kill innocent people. We’ve come for El Zopilote.”
The other said: “We do not charge quotas.”
