Pedestrian Killed By Train In Fabens Overnight

At about 2:40 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, El Paso County Sheriff?s Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Grace St. and the railroad tracks in Fabens, Texas in reference to a possible accident involving the train.

According to Union Pacific personnel, the conductor of a westbound train reported that the train may have struck something in the area of this crossing. Sheriff?s Deputies searched the area near the railroad tracks but nothing was located or found.

At about 3:20 a.m., Union Pacific personnel located the lifeless body of a Hispanic male (not yet identified) lying partially on the railroad tracks. The body was located approximately 3/10ths of a mile west of Grace St. in the darkness. The scene was secured and Special Traffic Investigators were summoned to investigate.
