Fire At Apartment Building In Central El Paso Ruled Arson

The El Paso Fire Marshall’s Office said arson is to blame for a fire that broke out last night inside an apartment building in Central El Paso.

It happened in the 2500 block of Partello, near the intersection of Pershing and Altura shortly before 9 p.m. last night.

The fire was quickly extinguished. No one was home at the time.

Investigators said someone broke into the apartment and set combustibles on fire in a bedroom before fleeing the scene.

Other apartments in the building appeared unaffected today. Damage is estimated at $35,000 dollars.
