Foley man found with missing Texas girl faces child custody charge
A Foley, Ala. man faces a criminal charge after police said he was found in Enterprise this morning with an El Paso teenager who had been reported missing, according to a report in the Mobile Press-Register (Ala.) newspaper.
Twenty-year-old Jerry Lee William White met the 16-year-old El Paso girl through the Internet several months ago, Daphne, Ala. police said.
White and the girl had reportedly arranged to meet during the Christmas holiday while she was visiting family in the Daphne area.
Last week, she went to meet friends and while she was with them, climbed into White’s pickup truck, according to the article.
After the two were found inside an Enterprise apartment, White was charged with interference with child custody, a Class C felony punishable in Alabama by up to 10 years in prison.
The girl, who was physically unharmed, is expected to be returned to her mother.
