Former UTEP Receiver Moturi Added To Cowboys Practice Squad

With Roy E. Williams slowed by a groin injury, Jesse Holley nursing a knee injury and Sam Hurd battling headaches, the Cowboys added Jeff Moturi to the practice squad to help get through the final week of practice.

To make room for Moturi the Cowboys waived defensive end Alex Daniels.

The only healthy receivers with a full knowledge of the offense are Miles Austin and Manny Johnson, who does not have a catch in his career. Teddy Williams was called up to the active roster last week but has been playing wide receiver for only a month, and Troy Bergeron joined the practice squad on Dec. 15.

Williams did not have a catch vs. Arizona after missing the Washington game. Holley has been on the injury report the last few weeks with the sore knee. Hurd has seven catches in the last three games after having seven in the first 12.

Moturi, an Irving native who played at UTEP, had been on the practice squads for Chicago and Green Bay this year.
