33-Year-Old Man Killed In Accidental Shooting In Socorro, Police Say

A 33-year-old man was accidentally shot and killed Early Wednesday in Socorro, police said.

Investigators said the shooting occurred about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 10700 block of Lippert Road.

The victim was identified as 33-year-old Alberto Ricardo Arce.

Investigators said Arce was sitting inside a car with his 14-year-old cousin when a gun accidentally went off. Arce was shot once.

The teenager, who was not identified, was not hurt.

Family members were very distraught. A resident in the area threatened a KVIA photographer, saying if he knew what was good for him, he would leave.

Socorro police are investigating how the weapon was obtained and discharged.
