Former UTEP great Tim Hardaway to play in local golf tournament

Summer is here and that means its time for the premier golf tournament in El Paso, the Joseph B. Karam Memorial Golf Tournament, with all proceeds benefitting the Joseph B. Karam Scholarship Fund through the El Paso Community Foundation.

The JBK Golf Tournament takes place on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Painted Dunes Golf Course. Interested parties can register their team by contacting Ben Karam at 915.203.2946.

With the help and participation of the El Paso community, the JBK Foundation hopes to exceed $30,000 in contributions toward the fund this year.

The JBK Golf Tournament is a top-notch experience for participants, from over $50,000 in trips and prizes, delicious meals, beverages, fun and games run by Christina?s Promotions, with each player receiving a $100 Nike Gift Certificate and more.

The JBK tournament stands out among the rest. Participants in the upcoming tournament can expect to play beside celebrity guests: Tim Hardaway, Greg Foster and David Rodriguez.

Karam Foundation: Shortly after Joe Karam passed away in 2009, his sons TJ, Ben, and Luke, along with his daughters Kara, Katie, and Cindy, were determined to continue the silent, compassionate generosity of their father toward the El Paso community. Joe was a compassionate man that silently gave to help those so they could help themselves. His efforts included supplementing individual?s incomes in order for them to go to college or send their children to school; paying doctor bills, purchasing food, clothing, and toys for their children. The Joseph B. Karam Foundation housed and distributed by the El Paso Community Foundation, hosts several fundraisers to keep Joe?s efforts alive.
