Man Injured In Socorro Crash Dies, Family Says
A 24-year-old man who crashed early Friday in Socorro has died, a source close to the family said.
Socorro city spokesman Dave Garcia said the man was driving east on North Loop Drive when he lost control and drove onto the muddy shoulder about 2:50 a.m. Worsham Road in Socorro.
The car hit a concrete canal, which launched it across a wide driveway and onto a wooden fence covered with shrubs, Garcia said.
Garcia said the man was partially ejected from the vehicle.
The man was taken to Del Sol Medical Center where he later died, his family said. Paramedics performed CPR on the way to the hospital.
Investigators say wet roads and speed are to blame for the wreck.
