Co-Worker Mourns Death Of Las Cruces Realtor
For Laura Reynolds, news of Jack Hadley’s death was hard to swallow.
The 62-year-old Hadley was found dead inside an upscale home southeast of Las Cruces on Friday. According to investigators, a fire was set inside a bedroom, allegedly to cover up evidence of a possible homicide. Reynolds said she was dumbfounded.
“It’s just very, very sad and hard to believe,” said Reynolds.
Reynolds and Hadley worked together at ERA Real Estate of Las Cruces. She was in the process of scoping out a new property on Friday afternoon when she saw emergency responders heading towards Hadley’s neighborhood
“I passed three fire trucks, which really seemed to be going the wrong direction for the area they cover,” said Reynolds. “And I made note at the time that it was really odd, not knowing anything about (the fire). Then at dinner, one of my colleauges called me and told me what happened…It wasn’t until hours later that I made the connection that (the fire trucks) were actually headed to (Hadley’s) house.”
The next morning she found out the emergency crews she had seen were responding to Hadley’s death.
“We will miss him greatly,” said Reynolds. “He was an excellent colleauge and I had a lot of respect for him, (he was) a super nice guy, and we’ll miss him.”
“I don’t know a lot about Jacks personal life,” said Reyonlds. “But the Jack that I know is very gentle and professional and I can’t imagine…”
According to Reynolds, Hadley will be remembered as a kind man, whose professionalism and infectious personality will be missed.
“It’s a small office and that’s gonna be a very noticeable difference. Just the presence is gone,” said Reynolds.
Investigators were still waiting late Saturday evening for results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
