EPISD Bus Driver Arrested On Child Porn Charges
The El Paso Independent School District confirmed that a man arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography is a bus driver for the district.
The district placed 52-year-old Rodolfo Calderon on unpaid administrative leave.
In a written statement Monday afternoon, the district said it takes the situation very seriously.
The El Paso Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Unit said Calderon, of the 3900 block of Idalia, shared an electronic child pornography file over the Internet on Sept. 20. The files depicted a child younger than 18 years of age at the time the image of the child was made, who is engaging in sexual conduct.
On Friday, Calderon was arrested on suspicion of possession of child pornography with intent to promote possession of child pornography. His bond was set at $100,000.
The task force is composed of FBI agents and El Paso police detectives.
