Nonprofit Builds, Donates Special Home For Wounded Marine

Marine Cpl. Jose “Daniel” Gasca lost both his legs after an improvised explosive device blew up in Fallujah, Iraq, in 2008.

Now, a nonprofit group is honoring his service and his sacrifice by presenting Gasca with the keys of a new, specially built home.

“There are a lot of wounded veterans out there that are equally if not more deserving than I am,” said Gasca after getting the keys.

Gasca’s home was donated by Homes for Our Troops, which operates nationwide. The organization has built 100 specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans at no cost to the veterans.
