UPDATE: Soldier Killed In Head-On Collision With Tractor Trailer In Chaparral

New Mexico State Police said a crash involving two vehicles and a tractor trailer left a soldier dead.

The crash occurred about occurred 7: 15 a.m. Friday on NM 213, south of NM 404. The soldier has not been identified and was only described as a man in his 20s.

He died at the scene

Investigators said the soldier swerved right into the path of an 18-wheeler.

They he was not speeding, and they do not believe he was intoxicated at the time.

It is still unclear where the soldier was stationed.
