EPPD: Burglary Suspect Shot & Killed Downtown
A man said another man burglarized his SUV Saturday afternoon, and that’s why he said he shot and killed him, according to El Paso police.
Investigators said an officer was flagged down by a person at about 1:12 p.m.
That person told the officer that something had happened on Texas Street between Campbell and Kansas, police spokesman Javier Sambrano told ABC-7.
The officer found a Hispanic man in his 20s who had been shot and a man in his 50s, investigators said.
Sambrano said the older man told the officer that he had shot the man in his 20s because he was burglarizing his SUV.
Investigators said the burglary suspect was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Police are still investigating the shooting and no charges have been filed at this time.
Texas street between Kansas and Campbell remains closed.
