ABC-7 I-Team: Luther Jones Was An FBI Informant, Court Documents Show

Former county judge and former state Rep. Luther Jones, who is serving a six-year sentence for public corruption, was once an informant for the FBI, according to a court document obtained by the ABC-7 I-Team

The documents says two prosecutors submitted a disk containing audio recordings and written documents generated as part of Jones’ “work as an informant for the FBI.”

According to the filing, Jones asked to review the DVD because it, “may contain exculpatory statements bearing on Jones’s conviction in this case.”

Federal Judge Frank Montalvo denied Jones’ request, saying there appeared to be no such statements in the DVD.

Jones is facing a second trial for public corruption in April, along with 10 other defendants.
