Thanksgiving Day Closures

? El Paso City Hall will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24 for Thanksgiving holiday. The Nov. 22 City Council meeting is canceled. City Hall will reopen at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28. City Hall is closed on Fridays.

? Thursday garbage and recyclables will be collected on Saturday. The collection routes for the rest of the rest of the community will remain on a regular schedule. No other collection days will be affected by the holiday.

? Most financial institutions will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Check with your bank or credit union for hours of operation.

? The El Paso landfill, at 2300 Darrington Road, will be closed on Thursday and will resume regular business hours on Friday. The landfill is normally open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

? The Citizen Collection Stations will be closed on Thursday and Friday. The drop-off sites are regularly open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and are located at: 121 Atlantic; 4200 Delta; 2492 Harrison; 4501 Hondo Pas; and 1034 Pendale.

? Sun Metro will offer free rides all day Thanksgiving Day for Customer Appreciation Day, including the curb-to-curb, demand-response service, the LIFT. Sun Metro also encourages customers to participate in and support citywide celebrations, such as the Mayor’s Thanksgiving Dinner. All bus routes will run on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. The customer service line will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sun Metro ticket offices at the Bert Williams Downtown Santa Fe Transfer Center, 601 Santa Fe, and the Eastside Transit Terminal, 1165 Sunmount, will be closed on Thursday, but will resume a regular schedule on Friday. ? The El Paso Fire Department Headquarters will be closed Thursday and Friday, and will reopen at 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28.

? The Museums and Cultural Affairs Department will be closed on Thursday. The Downtown Artist Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26. For more information, call 541-4481 or email mcad@elpasotexas.gov.

? All El Paso recreation centers, senior centers, sports centers, city-operated daycare centers, aquatic centers and the administrative office for the Parks and Recreation Department at City Hall will be closed Thursday.

The Galatzan, 650 Wallenberg, and Veterans, 5301 Salem, daycare centers will also be closed on Friday.

The Chalio Acosta, 4321 Delta, and Nations Tobin, 8831 Railroad Dr. sports centers will be open Friday and closed on Saturday and Sunday.

The Carolina, Don Haskins, Gary Del Palacio, Multipurpose, Nolan Richardson, Pat O’Rourke and San Juan recreation centers will be open Friday. Recreation centers will have normal hours of operation, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, except for Chihuahuita, Rae Gilmore, and Seville Recreation Centers, which are closed on Saturdays. ? The El Paso Zoo will be closed Thursday and will re-open at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Regular zoo winter hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ticket gate closes at 4 p.m. For more information, call 521-1850 or visit elpasozoo.org.

? The city of El Paso Department of Public Health will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

The Rawlings Pediatric Dental Clinic will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

All WIC centers will also be closed Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011. The Henderson, Fabens, and Montana Vista WIC Centers will be closed on Wednesday.

Food Inspection will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

The HIV Prevention Clinic will be open 8 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 4 p.m.Tuesday and Wednesday.

Immunizations clinics will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and will be closed on Saturday, Nov. 26.

The Lab Annex will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

The 2-1-1 Call Center will remain operating 24/7.

? Most Dona Ana County offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Emergency services and law enforcement in the field will not be affected, but the administrative offices of the Doa Ana County Sheriffs Department will be closed.

? The city of Las Cruces offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Emergency services such as fire and police will be unaffected. The following is a list of closures:

?The Branigan Memorial Library in Las Cruceswill be closed Thursday and Friday.

? All Las Cruces museums will be closed Thursday and Friday.

? All recreation centers, including the Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center and Frenger Pool will be closed Thursday and Friday. However, the Aquatic Center will be open from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.

? RoadRUNNER Transit offices in Las Cruces are closed and there will be no regular bus service or Dial-a-Ride on Thanksgiving Day. However, there will be bus service from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and the Dial-A-Ride scheduler will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

? Solid Waste Offices in Las Cruces are closed and there will be no regular trash or recycling pickup on Thursday. Trash and recycling services originally scheduled for Thursday will be picked up on Friday. If your trash is regularly scheduled for Friday and is not picked up that day, it may be picked up on Saturday.

? The Foothills Landfill in Las Cruces will be closed Thursday and open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

? The Recycling Center and Transfer Station in Las Cruces will be closed Thursday, but will open for regular hours from 7a.m to 5 p.m. Friday.

? Senior Programs is closed, however the Munson Senior Center will serve a special meal for seniors at noon Thursday. The deadline to make a meal reservation is Monday.
