Auditions To Be Held For Socorro State Baseball Championship Movie
Winning it all!
That’s what the 2009 Socorro High School baseball team did when it won the state championship, and plans for a movie are moving forward.
Justicia Productions will conduct a second casting call at 10 a.m. Dec. 3 in the Socorro High School auditorium, and all actors and aspiring actors are encouraged to participate for “a chance to be a part of El Paso and Socorro history.”
“Ideally, we would use local actors and production staff for the majority of the positions,” Producer Jess Araujo said. “The August casting call produced several local actors that are impressive and promising for roles in the movie.
Araujo and a production crew will conduct screen tests, and they promise to work as late as necessary to make sure that all interested participants are given an opportunity to demonstrate their acting skills.
Araujo wants to make this an El Paso and Socorro project, calling the Bulldogs’ accomplishment a story one that must and will be told.
“This is a story about a remarkable coach and an extraordinary team that achieved the incredible goal all teams dream about ?winning it all,” Adaujo said.
The Socorro championship came 60 years after the Bowie High School baseball team won the 1949 state championship.
