More Soldiers Return To Fort Bliss Ahead Of Withdrawal Deadline

An estimated 200 soldiers serving in Iraq have returned to the Borderland.

The soldiers, who are a part of the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, were in Iraq since August. They were training, advising and assisting the Iraqi army and security forces in preparation for the final withdrawal by Dec. 31.

The plane was expected to touch down at Biggs Army Airfield at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Fort Bliss officials say they expect more soldiers to be returning from overseas in the coming weeks ahead of the approaching deadline.
