Rain/Snow Hit Borderland

Heavy rain fell overnight as a strong storm system moved through area, producing heavy rain and marble size hail. This morning, light rain fell in El Paso while snow fell in the higher elevations and Las Cruces, shutting down US-70 between Las Cruces and Alamogordo.

After the precipitation moves east, the winds will crank up, gusting up to 45 mph.

Temperatures will drop to 30 tonight and temperatures will stay in the 40s for tomorrow.
