NMSU Football Adds Bedell to Staff

LAS CRUCES, N.M. ? New Mexico State Head Football Coach DeWayne Walker announced Thursday that Brad Bedell has been hired as the Aggies? new offensive line coach. Bedell spent one season at UC Davis.

?I?ve known Brad since he was a high school player and as he worked his way through the junior college ranks and then at Colorado,? Walker said. ?When he got into coaching I just continued to follow his coaching career. Tom Cable recommended Brad to me and Tom and I have a great relationship. Brad is an up-and-comer and I think with the type of work that Jason (Lenzmeier) did for us, Brad can come in and continue to build on that and even take it further. We feel fortunate to get a coach of his caliber on our staff.?

Prior to UC Davis, Bedell coached at Northern Colorado where he served on the Bears’ staff in 2010. He previously interned with the University of Colorado program after playing five seasons in the NFL with Cleveland, Miami, Green Bay and Houston.

Bedell was named All-America by both the Football Writer’s Association and by the Associated Press after his senior season at Colorado in 1999, receiving All-Big 12 first-team accolades as well. He transferred to the Buffaloes after an All-America career at Mt. San Antonio Junior College.
