Police Continue Looking For 1-Year-Old Girl Who Might Be In Danger

The search continues for a missing Las Cruces baby investigators fear might be in danger.

Police said 1-year-old Nevaeh Jauregui.was last seen on Monday with her mother and her boyfriend, who they say have outstanding warrants for child neglect.

The girl’s grandmother, Angela Regalado, was in charge of the baby after a domestic disturbance on Dec. 14. Police said they found evidence of cocaine and marijuana in their apartment.

Regalado said investigators also found drugs in little Nevaeh’s system.

Regalado said that despite the disturbance, she allowed Jauregui to stay at her house Christmas night. But when Regalado woke up in the morning, both Jauregui and the baby were gone.

Regalado said she hasn’t heard from her daughter or her boyfriend since then.

When asked if she felt the baby was in danger, Regalaso said, “Actually, yes I do. If they are still doing drugs or something, yeah I do believe so. I do believe the baby needs to come home safely, too.”

Police are asking anyone who sees Jauregui or Mendez to immediately call police.

Neighbors told ABC-7 they saw the couple the night the baby was taken.

There is a Facebook page that’s been set up showing more pictures and information about Nevaeh.
