Las Cruces Parents Arrested On Child Abuse Charges For Dirty Home
Two Las Cruces parents were arrested on child abuse charges Friday after police said they found their house was filthy and unsafe for children, according to the Las Cruces Police Department.
Police went to a home on the 1500 block of Monte Vista Avenue after neighbors reporter hearing a mother screaming at her children.
Police said they found trash, large piles of dirty clothing, food crumbs, unidentified stains and debris throughout the home. Officials also said the bedroom where the children slept smelled like urine.
The parents, 29-year-old Virginia Murray and 32-year-old Michael Murray, were charged with child abuse of their four children, ages 4-11. The children have been temporarily placed in the custody of the state.
