City Council Declares January Crime Stoppers Month

City Council members have declared January as Crime Stoppers month in El Paso, according to the El Paso Crime Stoppers organization officials.

Officials said that in 2011, the Crime Stoppers of El Paso tip line helped to solve four of the seven Crimes of the Week that were solved that year.

According to the latest statistics released Wednesday by El Paso Crime Stoppers, the nonprofit organization has aided nearly 4,000 arrests and $50 million in drugs recovered since it began in 1978.
