Anticipated street closures for funeral of El Paso Police officer Jonathan Molina

The El Paso Police Department is anticipating several road closures and traffic delays as a result of the funeral arrangements for Officer Jonathan Molina from 10 a.m. until about 3 p.m. today. Police released this information to alert the public to these locations to minimize the delay’s which will be occurring in the area surrounding the church as well as the procession route to Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
The following roadways will be closed to traffic around the church:
Crosby east at Mesa
Cliff east at Mesa
River east at Mesa
Arizona east at Mesa
California west at Campbell
River west at Campbell
Crosby west at Campbell
Cliff west at Campbell
Kansas south at Schuster
Rio Grande east at Stanton
Campbell south at Schuster
Nevada west at Campbell
Kansas north at Arizona

The funeral procession is scheduled to begin at around 1:30p.m. and will travel from the church to Fort Bliss National Cemetery along the following route:
South on Mesa to Rio Grande
East on Rio Grande/Grant to Alabama
North on Alabama to Fred Wilson
East on Fred Wilson to Spur 601
Spur 601 to the Cemetery
The on ramps to Spur 601 will be closed at US 54 as well as the Marshall Ramp from Railroad.

While along this route roadways will be closed as the procession passes. The delays at these intersections are anticipated to be approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Please see attached maps for the route as well as the area around the church. There will be uniformed law enforcement personnel conducting traffic control in the area surrounding the church as well as along the procession route.
