Montwood Coach Harper Moves One Victory Away From Historic #900 For His Career

Montwood High School basketball Coach Tony Harper is just one victory shy of an improbable milestone: 900 career victories. After Friday night’swin over Americas, all Coach Harper and Montwood need is avictory on Tuesday night against Coronado. Unfortunately, it won’t be easy. Montwood will go up against El Paso’s #1 ranked team.

However, —how sweet would that be? -Recording win #900 of his career by upsetting the borderland’s top ranked team!

In 2011, Coach Harper was awarded the prestigious Texas State Coach of the Year for Boys’ Basketball from the University Interscholastic League. And, he hasn’t skipped a beat. Harper has the most wins (899) among active coaches in Texas.
