Miner Women’s season ends

The UTEP Women’s team is coming home.

The UCF squad beat them 89-77 in the Conference USA basketball tournament.

In the first half, the Lady Miners came out strong led by senior Anete Steinberga, who scored 12 points in the first 20 minutes.

The score at half time was 43-40, but UCF freshman sensation Briana Jackson kept the heat on and her team took the lead.

The game was a suspenseful 70-69 with less than seven minutes left when the Lady Knights went on a big run and opened a double-digit lead.

The Women Miners end the season with a 21-10 record.
