Thursday Night Borderland Football

Three games took place Thursday night, and all were very one-sided.

El Dorado coming off a heartbreaking loss to Montwood last Friday was looking to bounce back against Socorro. The Aztecs offense cruised, and their defense was lights out. The Aztecs blanked the Bulldogs 41-0 at the SAC.

El Paso started the year (4-1, 2-0) and were taking on a Jefferson squad still looking for their first district win. The Tigers were with out QB Bryant Wolf due to an ankle injury, and that was a tough loss to the lineup. The Silver Foxes capitalized on Tigers turnovers and won at Bowie High 22-7.

At the Field of Dreams Mayfield was also looking to bounce back from their first loss of the year last Friday. The Trojans who are now ranked 4th in the State of New Mexico Class 5A poll, cruised to a 49-14 win over Gadsden.
