Green Day to perform March 13 at El Paso’s Tricky Falls

A video of Green Day that was oddly posted by Tricky Falls’ management on its Facebook page in recent days proved to be prophetic even though the video ended up being taken down.

Green Day will be performing a warm-up show at the 1,500-person-capacity club on March 13, just a couple days before they are set to perform at SXSW in Austin.

Tricky Falls’ Facebook page teased before 5 a.m. Tuesday that a big music announcement would be made in a couple of hours.

The official announcement came through Tricky Falls’ newsletter shortly after 7:30 a.m., stating that tickets would go on sale at 10 a.m. March 1 and would be available only through www.holdmyticket.com and www.trickyfalls.com.

Green Day will also perform club dates at The Fox Theater in Pomona, Calif. on March 10 and the Marquee in Tempe, Ariz. on March 11, according to the band’s website.

“There can be NO name changes – the person who buys the ticket MUST be the person who comes to the door to be banded – no exceptions! Limit 2 Tickets per person,” according to the event page for the Tricky Falls show.

Tickets will be $51, plus service charges.

Green Day, known for selling out arena tours, released three albums in recent months but was forced to cancel and reschedule its tour because its lead singer, Billy Joe Armstrong, entered rehab after an onstage meltdown in September.

The Tricky Falls concert announcement was first reported in the print version of this product.
