Woman killed in pedestrian accident identified

Police identified the victim of the fatal accident in far east El Paso Wednesday night.

Police said 47-year-old Judith Yeager was hit by a vehicle just after 8:30 p.m. on the 12600 block of Tierra Este.

Yeager was crossing Tierra Este, and was struck by a 2001 Saturn, according to officials.

Yeager was transported to Del Sol Medical Center, and later died from her injuries, police said.

Police said the woman was not in a crosswalk, and the 57-year-old driver did stop at the scene.

Special Traffic Investigators were on the scene.

Police said speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors.

No charges have been filed.
