Humane Society Save-A-Life Telethon raises $118K
Thank you to everyone who watched the telethon Saturday! Especially the ones who donated!
Saturday night hundreds of people pledge their monetary support in the Save-a-Life telethon presented by Mission Chevrolet.
By the end of the night the grand total was $118,000.
Borderland residents, and those watching on the world wide web, opened their hearts and wallets in support of the El Paso Humane Society during the 20th Annual Save-A-Life Telethon Saturday evening.
During the event, ABC-7’s Stephanie Valle, Matthew Smith, Maria Garcia, Krystal Klei and Rick Cabrera, along with the shelter’s executive director, Betty Hoover and dozens of volunteers, reminded viewers of the benefits a loving pet can bring a family.
This year the Humane Society raised more than $119,000, surpassing last year’s total of more than $105,000.
ABC-7 and the Humane Society extend a sincere “Thank you” for your generosity.
If you were not able to call during the telethon, you can donate online year-round by going to the Humane Society of El Paso’s Website.
Why give to the telethon?
Every year the Humane Society of El Paso takes in nearly 2,700 pets. The Humane Society of El Paso works very hard to find each one a new loving home.
Why is your donation so vital?
The Humane Society of El Paso is a non-profit organization. It receives no financial support from the municipal, county, state or federal governmental agencies, nor are we affiliatedwith any national organizations. The organization is able to do its work because of generous donations from individuals like you, local business sup-port, grants and bequests. If it were not for you the HSEP would not exist.
Where does your donation go?
The Humane Society of El Paso provides quality care and a safe, healthy, temporary shelter for thousands of animals every year. It provides public education regarding responsible pet ownership, low cost humane euthanasia services and we have the only pet crematorium in the city. These are just a few of the many services that the HSEP provides for the community and it is all made possible because of your pledge.
