Storms hit the El Paso area

Storms hit the El Paso area Friday afternoon and night producing some rain and wind. The storm moved in from the west and northwest around 6pm causing the winds to crank up around 60 mph in spots with blowing dirt, dust and sand. Some moderate rain followed behind the wind, primarily on the east side of El Paso, but not enough to bring much relief to our drought. The rain will end Friday night and drier air will allow temperatures to warm up to the upper 90’s for the weekend and triple digits for next week.
