City of El Paso to change department phone numbers

The City of El Paso’s Department of Information & Technology Services has been working on an upgrade to the telephone system that will allow for standardization and cost savings, a City spokeswoman said Wednesday afternoon.

Because of this the City will have new phone numbers for all City departments. The process will begin this Friday and will continue over the next 24 months.

The new City prefix will be (915) 212-XXXX. As phone numbers change the public will be notified and new numbers will be posted on the City’s homepage www.elpasotexas.gov. Additionally, to allow for a smooth transition and time for staff and the public to become familiar with the new phone numbers, the old phone numbers will continue to work for another 5-6 months but everyone is encouraged to begin using the new 212-XXXX phone numbers.
