Northeast man allegedly kills mother-in-law
El Paso Police said a man shot his mother-in-law to death in northeast El Paso overnight. The man police are calling a “killer” is behind bars.
Police said they were called to a domestic disturbance at the 3300 block of Sirius around 1 a.m. Saturday morning. When they got there police said they found the mother-in-law with a bullet hole in her chest.
The woman was 25-year-old Armando Munoz’s mother-in-law. Police said Munoz was fighting with his wife, and when things escalated, they say he pulled a weapon.
The ABC-7 newsroom has been in contact with police and they said during that fight, Munoz grabbed a hand gun, pulled the trigger and shot his mother in law 47-year-old Bobbi Hackney. Hackney was taken to University Medical Center where she later died.
Munoz allegedly fled the home on foot, but officers caught up with him a short distance away. Munoz was arrested and charged with murder and family violence.
