Bowie High School teacher arrested for alleged improper educator-student relationship

A Bowie High School math teacher has been arrested on a charge of improper educator-student relationship.

Officials from the El Paso Independent School District have confirmed the man is 33-year-old Eleazar Venzor.

The school district received a tip about Venzor on Jan. 24, 2014 and said he was immediately removed from campus.

On Jan. 25, EPISD police picked up the investigation.

Venzor describes himself as the mathematics department chair on a website he has.

He taught Advanced Placement pre-calculus and pre-AP pre-calculus.

Venzor’s website also states he was the freshman boys basketball coach and girls assistant track coach at Bowie.

After EPISD Police obtained a warrant, Venzor was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail.

He has since posted bond and is awaiting an unknown court date.

The district says he has resigned his position.
