El Paso Police search for suspect in Segundo Barrio shooting

El Paso police are searching for a gunman after a man was shot in the Segundo Barrio neighborhood early Thursday morning.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. near the intersection of Father Rahm and El Paso Street.

According to police radio scanners, the victim was hit with a shovel and shot in the leg. He was taken to University Medical Center and is expected to be okay.

As for the suspect, ABC-7 producers heard him being described on police radio traffic as a 35-year-old Hispanic man driving a white truck with New Mexico plates. Police would not confirm the description to ABC-7, but did state that the suspect remained on the loose.
