Gates Millennium Scholarship recipients

The catholic diocese of El Paso announced 12 Cathedral High School seniors, and 2 Loretto Academy seniors are recipients of the Gates Millennium Scholarship.

52,000 students across the country applied for the scholarship and only 1,000 students were selected. The 12 Cathedral seniors were honored yesterday at a pep rally. Last year 10 Cathedral High seniors received the scholarship.

Ysleta Independent School District is also celebrating 4 of their seniors, Eastwood High School, Britainy Barnes and Nathaniel Goodwin, Parkland High School Alejandro Diaz, and Valle Verde Early College High School Enrique Amaya. The scholarship program was started by Bill and Melinda Gates.
