Police release name of woman killed in Central El Paso crash Thursday morning

El Paso Police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old El Pasoan after the car she was driving crashed into a light pole.

The crash occurred at 3:22 a.m. Thursday, April 23 in the 5000 block of Gateway South.

Officers on the scene determined Jaqueline Galindo had died in the crash.

Special Traffic Investigators say that Galindo was driving a 2005 Dodge Neon south along the 5000 block of Gateway South when Galindo lost control of the vehicle and struck the light pole. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Police have determined if Galindo was speeding or if alcohol was a factor in this crash.
